Strata East – panel

To celebrate the relaunch of Strata-East and their partnership with Mack Avenue Music Group, critic-historians Nate Chinen, Harmony Holiday, Marcus J. Moore and Syd Schwartz take part in Strata-East: The Return, a livestream conversation on February 11 at 6pm ET/3PM PT.
The conversation will cover the label and its legacy, the significance of its revivification, and the four iconic albums that will be reissued, including Pharoah Sanders’ Izipho Zam (My Gifts), Charlie Rouse’s Two Is One, Charles Tolliver’s Music Inc’s Live at Slugs’, Vol. I & II, and Stanley Cowell’s Musa: Ancestral Streams. In addition, special guest audiophile and journalist Michael Fremer will join to speak about the process and care taken to transfer the music directly from the original analog tapes, the mastering process with Kevin Gray and the manufacturing at Record Technology Inc. (RTI).
This event is free with registration and is limited to 500 attendees.
